Dena RobertsI am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep history of working with the body. In my earlier career I was solely a Rolfer. After five years of working only with the body, I wanted to expand my capacities and received my Masters of Education in Counseling and Guidance. After completing post graduate work, I attained my State of Texas license in 1997. Since then, my interest and training continue to expand.

For three consecutive years, I trained with Ron Kurtz, the founder of Hakomi Body Centered Psychotherapy. I was Certified as a Hakomi Therapist, and completed his “Psychotherapy as a Spiritual Practice: The Practice of Loving Presence” program. Those years form the foundation of my perspective as a therapist and still guide me to this day.

A few years later, I trained with Richard Schwartz, the founder of The Internal Family Systems Model, and The Center for Self Leadership. I trained with him in two different group settings and received my certification as an IFS therapist. The IFS model has broadened and deepened my work.

More recently, I completed an Immersion course in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) with Diana Fosha, its founder. This model of therapy dovetails precisely with all my training and further encourages working at a deep level.
